Technology
Premiere Global Services also sets the industry standards for consistently delivering reliable conferencing technology. Premiere Global owns and operates automated and operator assisted bridges located in its multiple operations centers worldwide. Serving over five million conference calls representing nearly two billion minutes annually, Premiere Global continues to add bridges and ports to its network to accommodate continued growth. To ensure the success of each call, every measure is taken to ensure quality technical services, including:
- Active bridges on standby for immediate increased capacity
- Redundant processors, operation centers and controls in place should any one become compromised
- Battery and diesel generated power backups at all centers
- Multiple independent network connections from a variety of telecom providers
All conference bridges, and associated support equipment are monitored continuously. This includes: bridges, switches, servers, routers, and other components of the network. This process allows Premiere Global to meet varying customer needs and support the rapid growth we have experienced over the past 20 years while anticipating future collaboration trends.
New Technology and Developments
VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol)
By adding VoIP/SIP interfaces to our existing ReadyConference Plus platform, Premiere Global has achieved high quality results without significant changes in the user experience or conference operation. Premiere Global Services has been using VoIP technology for international backhaul transmission since 2002. Conference connections from Europe and Asia Pacific are converted to VoIP and transmitted to the United States where gateways return the transmission to TDM (Time-Division Multiplexing) for transmission over the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network). This backhaul methodology allows us to provide local-access numbers to numerous international locations at a reduced cost to our global customers via ReadyConference Global Meet. Capitalizing on this experience, Premiere Global Services is expanding this service and its use of VoIP transmission around the globe.
Premiere Global Services plans to develop future applications and technologies in other areas including:
- SMS
- Instant Messaging
- Web Collaboration Suite and Video
